1822 N-14 R7 NGC VG Details, Damaged & Corroded. Sharpness G6 but covered with microscopic roughness and pits. No verdigris and the only notable mark is a dull scratch or scrape across ONE. The date is bold and the legends are complete except for weakness on ONE CENT. Slightly glossy olive brown and steel with lighter brown and steel toning on the devices. This is one of the rarest varieties of the Middle Date Cent series (1816-1839) and the finest example grades only F12. Only 11 examples are known, and most of those are in very low grade. Our grade is G6 sharpness net AG3. The attribution and Mervis provenance are noted on the NGC label. Estimate Value $4,000 - UP
