1794 S-36 R5 VG7. Sharpness F15 with a small patch of fine pitting under the cap and larger pits scattered over the reverse, strongest at OF and EN in CENT. Otherwise the surfaces are smooth and the toning is a very attractive glossy medium brown and light olive. No verdigris or contact marks. M-LDS, Breen state III early, with die clashmarks behind the head. Noyes graded VG10 net VG7, his photo #29504. The date is strong and the legends are clear except for OF, which is obliterated by pitting. Comes with a nice provenance. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
