Lot 167

1794 S-50 R5 G5. Attractive medium brown and light chocolate. The surfaces are smooth, void of any trace of roughness or verdigris. There are a few light contact marks including a fine scratch in the field close to the portrait, a small rim bruise over the top of the cap, and a few hairline scratches inside the wreath. Basically just a well-worn cent. LDS, Breen state III, with a fine die crack from the 4 to the bust and pole (shows as a dull wave due to the wear). The date and LIBERTY are easily readable but some of the legend outside the wreath is weak or missing. Noyes photo #39303. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
Ex Tom Reynolds 7/27/2002-Scott Barrett (via Tom Reynolds) 5/2012-Dan Trollan Collection (includes the Barrett collection envelope).

Realized $1,860
