1839-O. NGC graded AU-58. Well struck and untoned with flashes of lively luster in the protected areas of the design. The strike is fairly sharp and the surfaces are pleasing for a briefly and gently circulated quarter eagle. Popular for the short lived type coin as well as the famed New Orleans mintmark, placed right above the date. Always in strong collector demand. Only 17,781 struck. Pop 67; 61 finer at NGC.
