1797. 9 stars left, 7 right, large letters. B-1, BB-73, Rarity 3. NGC graded AU-55. The strike is sharp for this important type issue, with more tthan half of the eagle's breast feathers showing clearly. Liberty's hair curls show strong separation as well. Nice even toning. The surfaces are clean and attractive, with the only minor distraction being faint adjutment marks crossing areas on the reverse. These are as made at the Mint, and were employed to slightly reduce the weight of the planchet to be within the narrow tolerance allowed for a silver dollar. Only 7,776 struck. Pop 5; 8 finer at NGC for the variety. Estimate Value $15,000 - 17,000
