Finely Cast Pair of 19th Century Bronze Neoclassical Figures, France. Exquisite pair of patinated bronze, classical figures on russet marble pedestals with gold ormolu details near the base. Late 19th century and very likely French, the details found in the casting are impressive and the patinated finish playing off the colors of the pedestals perfect. The bronzes are in excellent condition with a couple of tiny chips to the bases (not uncommon for pieces of this age) are in no way a distraction. Both stand 19½" tall and each weigh approximately 14 pounds. No foundry mark and unsigned but clearly have the quality, weight and patina of the finest quality bronzes that were cast in 19th Century France. Estimate Value $500 - UP
