Exceptional, Contemporary Roman Bronze Bust on Marble Pedestal. Exceptional, patinated bronze portrait bust of a Roman patrician mounted on dark spider-green marble. Outstanding artistry, most especially the strip of his tunic casually hanging from one shoulder, wrapping around and then fixed to the center of the pedestal, creating a knot. It nicely combines the patinated brass and the deep green colors in the marble. Artist has signed at base of bronze bust but the legibility is difficult (J. De Kug…….) Know this sculpture will require local pickup or outside shipping for it weighs close to 72 pounds to which we can recommend a fair and competent shipper.
