Stunning simplicity and serenity can be found in this late 19th century hanging scroll painting on silk with colors of a quail. Quail were associated with autumn as can also be seen with the grass and flowers of the season but also as a symbol of bravery. In excellent condition, painted scroll measures 48 x 13" and handsomely shadow boxed to 60 x 21 x 2".
