Three (3) Beautiful 19th Century Japanese Original Woodblock Prints. Three striking examples of 19th century Japanese woodblock prints. "The Coast at Enoshima" by Hiroshige (1797-1858) is a wonderful scene of villagers and children playing and swimming at the rocky shoreline. Woodblock print is 14½ x 9½" and is framed in silver gilt wood to 23 x 16". The second block print striking for its use of so much contrasting brick red and blues is by Utagawa Yoshiiku (1833 - 1904) of two well dressed women on deck as ma is passing. A cat looks on in lower right corner which can be a symbol of good fortune. 7 x 9½" and very handsomely framed to 16 x 20". The third and quite lovely woodblock print is a regally dressed woman, elegantly posed, enjoying tea and foods by herself under a blossoming cherry tree near a water's edge. 14 x 9½ beautifully framed and matted to 23 x 17" with just a slight loss of paper in lower right corner. Estimate Value $500 - UP
