Satchel Paige: Legendary Pitcher In both The Negro Leagues and MLB -- HOF, Signed Photo. Satchel Paige (1906-1982) is considered to be one of the all time greatest pitchers in history. Having played in nine different Negro Leagues, at the age of 48 he became the oldest rookie in Major League Baseball when he signed up with The Cleveland Indians in 1948 for two seasons and then the St. Louis Browns. In 1971, Paige was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Offered is an 8 x 10" black and white still signed in blue fountain pen across his Brown's uniform pants.
