Nine (9) Male MGM Stars of the 30s - 40s Robert Taylor, Gene Kelley, Mickey Rooney and a Portrait of Franchot Tone by George Hurrell. Eight male star portraits. The best is of Franchot Tone Oscar nominated for MUTINY ON THE BOUNTY (1935), a beautiful 10 x 13" double weight, vintage original, silver gelatin portrait by acclaimed photographer George Hurrell. Stamped on verso "Kindly Credit Hurrell, M-G-M" with a press tag promoting Tone as MGM's "progressive young actor and soon to be seen in NO MORE LADIES with Joan Crawford." The balance are also MGM oversized, double weight studio portraits with studio notations that include Gene Kelly with Marie McDonald, Mickey Rooney with Ann Blyth, Alan Marshall, a very dapper Robert Young (most famous later for TV's "Marcus Welby: MD") and one single portrait of Robert Taylor and three with Audrey Totter.
