Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Felix -- ALS to an Author in London. (1809-1847) German composer, pianist, organist, and conductor. Autograph letter signed, one page, in English, 7¼ x 4½", 4 Hobart Place, Caton Square [London], July 9th, n.d., but possibly 1841. Reads in full: "Sir, I beg to express my best thanks for the kind note and brochure of yours which I received a few hours before my departure from this Country. I shall peruse your book with much pleasure & gratefully think of the kindness which you expressed towards me and I only regret that my occupations did not allow me during this stay to visit the Temple as I so much wished to do. I hope to have that gratification at some future occasion & that you will continue till then your very kind intentions for me. I remain your obedt Servt, Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy."
