1812 S-289 R1 Large Date VF30+. Very attractive frosty light olive and chocolate brown. Mint luster shows in protected areas and the eye appeal of this cent is outstanding. No trace of roughness or verdigris. The only marks are a small, dull rim nick at the first S in STATES and a barely visible rim bruise at the R in AMERICA. M-LDS, Breen state III. Struck slightly off center to K-3. Removed from an NGC slab graded XF45 (NGC label #656473-016 included, and it shows the attribution and Reiver provenance). A very nice cent from a famous collection. Estimate Value $1,500 - UP
