Ethiopia. Coronation Gold Medal, Dated 23 Tekemt EE1923 (2 November AD 1930). Gill S11. 42 mm. 44.31 grams. Loop at top for a ribbon. Paris mint. By M. Delannoy. Likely struck after 1936. Haile Selassie I, and Empress Waizero Menen, First Freign, 1930-1936. Crowned jugate busts left, "Tekemt 23, 1823 Year of Mercy" in Aamharic above. Reverse; Imperial monogram in circle within trilobe. Struck to commemorate the coronation of Haile Selassie I. Superb specimen. Extremely rare. NGC graded Matte Proof 66. Estimate Value $4,000 - 4,500
