Pescennius Niger. Silver Denarius (2.86 g), AD 193-194. Antioch. [IMP C]AES C PESC NIG[ER IVS] A[….], laureate head of Pescennius Niger right. Reverse: [….]E AVG, Moneta standing facing, head left, holding scales and cornucopiae. Cf. RIC 64-66a-c; cf. RSC 55e-h or 56a-h. A excellent expressive portrait for the grade. We note some antique scratches in the field below the bust and some deposits scattered about. Rare. Fine or better. Estimate Value $600 - 700
