Lot 148

1854 N-11 R2 PCGS graded MS63 Brown, CAC Approved (OGH). Frosty medium steel brown and light olive. The surfaces are satiny and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. Essentially flawless; a speck of crud in the dentils between stars 11 & 12 may help identify this cent. LDS, die state c, with die flowlines connecting the 1 & 4 in the date to dentils below. Nicely struck except for the top of the ear, which is a bit softly impressed as nearly always seen on this variety. Our grade is MS60. Housed in an old small-size PCGS holder with a green label. Estimate Value $300 - UP
Ex Latimer, McCawley & Grellman Auctions/Goldbergs 2/3/2013:563-William Hamilton Collection.
