Irving, Washington -- ANS Re Dining With Benjamin Disraeli's Father (1783-1859) American author, historian, and diplomat. Autograph note signed in the text, one page, 5¼ x 4¼", Maddox St. (London), April 25 (the year 1825 has been added in another hand). The note reads: "Mr. W Irving will have great pleasure in dining with Mr. & Mrs. D'Israeli on Tuesday, May 14th." Isaac D'Israeli was the father of Benjamin Disraeli, a future prime minister of England. Smudge in lower right corner, else fine. Irving went to England in 1815 and lived in Europe for 17 years.
