1801-1815 Nashville (Tenn) Straight Line Cancel Stampless Collection, 19 Covers. Valuable collection of the Nashville straight linecancels consisting of 19 stampless folded letters, mostly mounted on annotated pages. Many interesting such as 1812 folded letter to a Capt Braham at Fort Stoddard in the Mississippi Territory that was sent via the Southern Route, used before the Great Mail Route (taking a difficult journey) and 1805 wrapper with handwritten endorsement "Rec'd January 4, 1806 from Andrew Jackson." Various rates from "FREE" to 25¢ (rate for letter going over 500 miles). Mixed condition to be expected. We don't recall ever seeing this many offered together. Estimate Value $2,000 - UP
