From the collection of aerospace memorabilia expert, Ken Havekotte, a fully intact Instrument Pointing System (IPS) and Payload Electronics Assembly (PEA). flown status presumed. Instrument was located in the Orbiter's payload bay area and proved a critical piece of the 3-axis gimbal system that provided precision pointing of a wide range of payloads. Research on Spacelab missions required that instruments be pointed with very high accuracy at stars, the sun, Earth or other targets of observation.
