U.S.S. Hornet Apollo 12 Recovery Crew Baseball Cap. From a crew member of the U.S.S. Hornet Apollo 12 recovery team baseball cap. The USS Hornet recovered the Apollo 12 astronauts the second successful Moon landing after their Yankee Clipper Command Module splashed down in the Pacific Ocean on November 24, 1969. The Hornet is preserved as a museum in Alameda, California. Its main deck has space artifacts including an Apollo command module and the Mobile Quarantine Facility and worth a visit. Cap is in excellent condition exhibiting only light wear and is size 7 1/8. It has affixed a button "Hornet Three More Like Before" humorously addressing the crew plus the three astronauts, Conrad, Gordon and Bean, and a reboot of the catch phrase "Hornet Plus Three" from Apollo 11.
