Apollo 11: One Smaller Sized Segment of Flown Thermal Mylar Film Coating "Kapton Foil". This Kapton foil segment (officially GT-131 Thermal Control Coating Laminate) is from the Apollo 11 Command Module, "Columbia" which in 1969 carried Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Michael Collins to the moon (currently on a two year tour of American cities) The mylar film coating provided thermal protection for the Command Module. Once returned to Earth, thermal coating was easily removed from the spacecraft and very often used for presentation purposes usually a tiny sample entombed in lucite. Offered is one small sized 2 x 3" Presented in a clear mylar sleeve where on can see the evidence of heat stress. Comes with exceptional provenance and COA. Scarce. Estimate Value $500 - UP
