Collection of Cut Signatures by All Seven Mercury Astronauts in a Matted, Photo Presentation. Project Mercury (1959-1963), at the insistence of President Eisenhower, pulled the "seven best and brightest" test pilots from a field of over 500 applicants. Although the agency viewed Project Mercury's purpose as an experiment to determine whether humans could survive space travel, the seven men immediately became national heroes. Offered is a wonderful collection of signatures on cards nicely matted in a presentation with a color photograph of all seven: Shepard, Grisson, Cooper, Schirra, Slayton, Glenn and Carpenter. Removed from frame, the signatures were protected under UV resistent glass, the color photo bold. All signatures made with a variety of different pens. This particular piece came from Todd Mueller Autographs in Colorado and conveys with his COA. 18¼ x 15". Estimate Value $1,250 - UP

Realized $864
