Superb, Rare 1913 German Silver Cup Commemorating The Prinz-Heinrich Airplane Prototype Airshow. The Prinz Heinrich event was a trial for prototype airplanes, set up in 1911, but named after one of the Kaiser's sons in 1913 (who was a career naval officer, but an enthusiastic aviator). That year's route was Wiesbaden – Kassel – Koblenz – Karlsruhe – Stuttgart – Straßburg. Offered is a commemorative beaker in 800 silver with a superb raised relief and engraving of an early propeller plane in the clouds, the German countryside below. Stamped on bottom Friedlander and German assay mark of 800. Posters and ephemera such as this cup from early aviation events are highly prized 3½ x 2½ and in remarkable condition.
