Lincoln, Abraham -- Cross Section of a Tree With Lincoln Association, and Other Lincoln Memorabilia. Group of memorabilia includes a cross section of a tree, 17½ x 18½ x 2", with plaque attached: "From the Tree Planted by Abraham Lincoln / at Springfield in 1856 / Taken Down in 1907." A copy of a photo of Lincoln in an old wooden frame is nailed to the tree and a rusting chain is attached to the back for framing. Additionally: a small piece of brick, 1½ x ½", from the original brick foundation of Lincoln's home at 8th and Jackson Sts., Springfield, IL, with a photo of the home; a dainty 5" high vase with a handpainted image of the cabin in Kentury where Lincoln was born; a 5¾ x 1" piece of wood with an ax buried in it with "State Capitol Springfield, ILL." and Lincoln The Rail Splitter; four commemorative medallions; a 1908 Veteran's badge from the 50th anniversary of the Lincoln-Douglas debates; a Lincoln medallion from the 1920 Republican National Convention in Chicago, on half of a watch band; and a Lincoln Monument Dedication Poem by James Judson Lord, delivered on Oct. 15, 1874 at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Springfield.
