Roman Judea, 1st-2nd Century AD., Blue Teardrop Bottle, Unguentarium. Beautiful glass teardrop bottle in a deep cobalt blue. Bottle of narrow, piriform shape, with cylindrical neck slightly constricted at the base and flat everted rim. Bottle intact and perfect, with faint iridescence in areas. Bottle of pleasing, balanced shape, color rare and striking. Height: 3 5/8".

Ex Goldberg's Fairchild Family Trust Collection Coin Auction of May 28-30, 2001, lot 2827; Ex June 1986, Superior Galleries Sale of the bankrupt assets of the International Diamond Corporation. The ancient Roman glass was acquired thru Rafi Brown in the early 1980's. Estimate Value $600 - UP
