Pre-Columbian: Two Ancient Panamaian Pottery Pieces 1200-1500 AD. Two quite fine examples of ancient Panamanian pottery. First a wonderful pot found in the 1930s near Panama in the shape of a pig or possibly gopher complete with male genitalia in excellent condition. No cracks or repairs, and just a years old chip to back left paw. In deep brown and darker brown tones Just at 5 x 8 x 4½" and includes a decades old notation of its provenance attached gallery sticker. Second piece is a small Cocle pottery ollas (seed jar) from ancient Panama. Of the Conti style with red and black linear decoration on an orange-tan ground. The olla stand just at 4" and has geometric designs still quite visible, rounded body and flared spout A chip on the spout is restored, but it is otherwise intact. Both display beautifully.
