Gandhara Grey Schist Relief Panel ca. 1st Century - 322 A.D. Attractive relief panel was carved of grey schist and originates from the kingdom of Gandhara ca. 1st century - 322 A.D. This ancient region was located in the Peshawar valley, between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Frieze has 12 high relief figures of attendants of Buddha who may have been the center of this relief section. The figures are shown below partial architectural moulding. Very appealing piece 18 x 2 x 4" and weighs approximately 7 pounds. Estimate Value $500 - UP
