Alfred Smith (1873-1944) Four-time Governor of NY and Democratic U.S. presidential candidate in 1928. 1932 TLS as president of Empire State, Inc., saying, "I lost as much myself in Warner Brothers stock as he paid for his stock." Toned. Herbert H. Lehrman (1878-1963) served as Governor from 1933 until 1942, then as US Senator (1949-1957). Card signed as Governor of New York, with title. Thomas Dewey (1902-71) Governor (1943-54), and 1944 Republican nominee for President, losing to FDR. Signature cut from a letter. (3 items)
