Beautiful, Large 19th Century KPM Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque in Antique Gilt Wood Frame. KPM plaques are highly-glazed, enamel paintings on porcelain plaques that were produced by Königliche Porzellan Manufaktur (K.P.M.), the King's Porcelain Factory, in Berlin between 1880 and 1901. Unlike canvas paintings that fade with time, these painted plaques retain their rich, vibrant colors and soft, glowing skin tones indefinitely. Offered is a stunning example of this company's work of a prtrait of a young woman in her garden, floral shears in holster hanging from her belt. Note the length of her braid, the extraordinary detail in the folds of her dress. The antique frame is also quite appealing and has been kept in very good condition with wear commensurate for the age. The back has a square reveal just over the K.P.M letters and incised sceptor. Plaque is pristine; no cracks, breaks or scratches in anyway compromising the beauty of this piece. 10 x 8" framed to 15 x 10". One of the nicest K.P. M. plaques we have ever offered. Estimate Value $2,500 - UP

Realized $1,980
