Collection of Vintage Badges and Medals -- Includes G.A.R., Athletic Prizes, Labor Unions, Etc. In athletics, there is an 1890 Second Prize for "Throwing 16 Lb. Hammer," OAC [Oregon Agricultural College / PCAAA [Pacific Coast Amateur Athletic Assn.]; name of winner is engraved on back: "W. Morrow/May 30/S.F. Cal."; medal was made by George C. Shreve & Co. Also, a badge for Castro Parlor No. 232, Native Sons of the Golden West, which sponsored teams during the 1920s and 1930s; a 1944 tennis medal from Chicago Sports Ass'n for Open Championship Men's Doubles, and a One-Mile Run badge with N.C.S.N.Y. Jan. 22.84.

There are two attractive G.A.R. badges, one for 1909 (Salt Lake City), and one for the 1916 convention in Cleveland, and two darkened medals honoring G.A.R. commanders I.N. Walker and Thomas H. Gault, plus a small Dept. Mass. G.A.R. badge with "Beans." Also, a 1981 Guest badge for the 1981 Rededication of the Tomb of Abraham Lincoln.

Also included are two vintage badges for the International Association of Bridge & Structural Iron Workers, one for Local Union No. 118, Sacramento, and the other for Local No. 31, San Francisco. Estimate Value $400 - UP
