City of Washington, View beyond the Navy Yards -- Currier & Ives. Color engraving showing Washington from the south bank of the Anacostia River. On the right is the Washington Navy Yard, which was established in 1799. Behind is the original Capitol Building and to the left is the White House. Currier & Ives is at lower left. Some dampstains visible on outer edges of border. Print is 11½ x 15¼". Framed to 13¾ x 18" in contemporary wood frame, which has numerous scrapes and nicks.
