Oversize Silver Gelatin Print of A Pensive Lady, c. Late 19th Century. 17 3/8 x 11½", on cardstock, full bleed, some silvering. A right-profile portrait of a lady with white hair, dressed in dark clothing and a widow's cap, with a white scarf tied at her neck. She is seated at a table, on which some documents are spread. Her left arm is propped on the table against the left side of her face and she stares straight ahead. A portrait of a man hangs on the wall, probably her late husband. Evidence of an earlier framing is visible at edges. A wonderful, exceptionally-large photograph. Estimate Value $250 - UP
