Binder, Erwin -- Celebrated Southern California Artist -- Patinated Bronze Sculpture (1934 - 1993) Binder was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He learned to cast metal and work with stone as an employee at his family's jewelry business. Wanting to develop these skills further, he enrolled at the Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles and subsequently produced numerous monumental public sculptures throughout Southern California in the 1970s and 1980s. But Binder also produced lovely mantle-sized works with the same organic and sensual shapes. A beautiful patinated bronze, 12½" including marble base. Very Fine condtion, however we note a small chip in the marble where bronze is mounted onto base, noticeable only from the back. Estimate Value $600 - UP
