Oliver, Myron Angelo -- Important, Historic, Beloved, California Coastal Artist. Monterey, California (1891-1967) Celebrated California artist of landscapes, cityscapes and the California coastline. A long time resident of Monterey, California, Oliver began painting at a young age, studied art at Stanford then New York City at the Art Students League. He joined the Army and fought in WWI, married a fellow art student and returned to Monterey where he founded the Carmel Art Association. He painted regularly throughout his life as well as pursuing interests in fine frames and furniture. Offered here is a piece dated 1950 (on verso.) Oil on board 20 x 16" and framed to 24 x 20". Here he has captured in his most playful style the colors of the harbor that define Monterey under beautiful blue skies. A wonderful piece, Oliver has signed in lower right corner and this work is in excellent condition. Estimate Value $1,000 - UP
