Walt Disney's 101 Dalmations, Cruella de Vil, Two Original Production Cel Levels Over Reproduction Background. Original, two cel production set from the 1961 Walt Disney animated classic, 101 DALMATIONS. Directed by Disney animation legend, Wolfgang "Woolie" Reitherman, one of Disney's "Nine Old Men" (Originally the nine men who proved Disney's core animators spanning decades) 101 DALMATIONS, was based on a story from the mid-1950s involving the kidnapping of puppies by one of the all time great villains Cruella de Vil. Marc Davis (another of the "Nine Old Men") was the sole animator on Cruella De Vil. During production, Davis claimed the character was partly inspired by Bette Davis, Rosalind Russell, Tallulah Bankhead and voice actress, Betty Lou Gerson. Offered is a highly desirable original two cel production set up from the film featuring de Vil in her distinct automobile. Production numbers are in lower right corner of cels, de Vil #2 and the car appears to be #18. Cels measure 12 ½x 15 and are in very fine condition with one tiny flake at edge of car hood.
