Group of eleven items: Edward Frederick Lindley Wood, Lord Halifax, business card of "The British Ambassador" signed "Halifax"; South African general and politician Jan Christian Smuts, card signed "JC Smuts FM" (he became a Field Marshal in the British Army in 1941 and was the only man to sign peace treaties ending both WWI and II); French military commander Maxine Weygand, 1932 ANS and card with holograph compliments; Sir Andrew Browne Cunningham as British Admiral of the Fleet, card signed "Cunningham of Hyndhope / Admiral of the Fleet"; Field Marshal Sir John Greer Dill, 9½x7½" PS "J.G. Dill"; General Hasting Lionel "Pug" Ismay (Churchill's Chief of Staff and first Secretary General of NATO), NATO FDC signed "Ismay / Secretary General"; 1st Viscount Portal of Hungerford, Marshal of the Royal Air Force, signature and date, "Portal of Hungerford / Dec. 1956"; Field Marshal Alan Francis Brooke, 1st Viscount Alanbrooke, magazine portrait (damaged) signed "Alanbrooke / Field Marshal / 8.8.62"; Sir Harold Alexander, noted for his North African campaigns against Field Marshal Erwin Rommel and for his later commands in Italy and western Europe, card signed "Alexander of Tunis"; and Field Marshal Bernard Law Montgomery, small album page signed "Montgomery of Alamein F.M / 25 November 1956" (1" tear and tape discoloration affect "Montgomery"). Additionally, a 1937 TLS from a German man in Hamburg to an American woman in Sacramento, California, 1 p, admiring FDR and wishing him success, and wishing that Americans understood that Hitler's government was the best for his country; "Hitler is loved by the whole nation…" Except for Brooke, overall condition fine.
