Cody, William F. "Buffalo Bill", Rare Double-Signed and Dated Signature (1846 - 1917) William Cody was born in the Iowa Territory, lived several years in Canada before his family moved to the Kansas Territory. He was a Pony Express Rider, served on a wagon train and after the Civil War was awarded a contract to supply Kansas Pacific Railroad workers with buffalo meat, where he earned his nickname "Buffalo Bill." Cody remains best known for his Wild West Shows that toured America and Europe, creating a dazzling form of entertainment around Western and cowboy themes. Offered is a rare signature signed as "W. F. Cody" and "Buffalo Bill" and dated "Feb. 27th /74" On 4¼ x 3" trimmed, ruled paper executed in black fountain pen ink. This came from the collection of Hiram Buck, a Civil War veteran. Very clean, desirable double signature. Estimate Value $750 - UP
