Lovely British 1837 Vellum Lease Indenture With Blue Revenue Stamp and Wax Seal. A lease indenture executed by Silvester & Co., Engravers to His Majesty's Public Offices, 27 Strand, London. With oversize two first words in calligraphy, the initial "T" in "This" containing the British coat of arms. The indenture is between Charles Adnam Mason of the Parish of Tarrington in the county of Hereford and Richard Johnson and Charles Henry Price, both of the city of Hereford, all three noted as gentlemen. For the sum of five shillings of lawful money, Mason sells to Johnson and Price two acres and fifteen perches of land "lying between the Lands now or late of Mrs. Buttress Land belonging to the poor of Lugwardine…." A lovely, clean document, 15¼ x 21¾" with scalloped top edge, blue revenue stamp in left margin, and Mason's red wax seal at bottom center. Atrractively matted and framed to an overall size of 24¾ x 31." Estimate Value $200 - UP
