Macedonia, under Roman rule. First Meris. Silver Tetradrachm (16.65 g), ca. 167-148 BC. Amphipolis. Macedonian shield with central boss depicting diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver at shoulder. Reverse: MAKEΔONΩN ΠPΩTHΣ, club; above, monogram; above, AP monogram; all within oak-wreath; to left, thunderbolt. SNG Copenhagen 1310; SNG Ashmolean 3290. Well centered and well struck.
