Calabria, Tarentum/Taras. Silver Didrachm (6.37g), c. 272-240 BC. Philiskos, magistrate. Youth on horseback right, raising hand; ΦIΛIΣKOΣ below. Reverse: Taras on dolphin left, holding kantharos and trident; TAPAΣ behind, tripod below. Vlasto 888; HN Italy 1036. Boldly struck and nicely centered on a flan of sound metal, and lightly toned in deep recesses. Extremely Fine. Estimate Value $500 - 600
