1798 S-169 R3 Small 8, Style II Hair PCGS AU Details, Environmental Damage. Mostly glossy chocolate brown and steel blended with hints of reddish chocolate toning on both sides. There are areas of minor roughness on the obverse, particularly off the bust tip, while the reverse is nice and smooth. There is a tiny speck of greenish verdigris or crud right of the denominator. A small rim nick over the T in LIBERTY and a pinprick over the second A in AMERICA can help identify this cent. M-LDS, Breen state IV, with a tiny rim cud break under the 98 and some die clashmarks on both sides. Our grade is EF40+ sharpness net VF20. (PCGS # 1434) Estimate Value $450 - UP
