Lot 214

1794 S-35 R5 VG7. Sharpness F12 or slightly better but the fields on the obverse are covered with microscopic roughness while the devices are smooth, and much of the reverse is lightly corroded. No verdigris, and the only marks are a few minor rim nicks, particularly over ST in STATES. Slightly glossy medium steel brown and chocolate with darker olive brown toning in protected areas. M-LDS, Breen state VII, with a strongly cracked obverse. In addition the reverse is rotated 45 degrees clockwise relative to the normal head-to-foot die orientation. The date and legends are complete and clear. Far from perfect but not too bad for this tough die variety. Estimate Value $800 - UP
Les Heilbronner Collection 1988-Les Heilbronner Estate.
