Lot 210

1794 S-29 R2 EF45. Sharpness very close to mint state but there is a small area of fine roughness at RICA and traces of dirt in protected areas on the reverse. The only contact marks are two pinpricks on the cheek, one more on the neck, and a pair of small rim nicks on the right side of the reverse. None of these defects is distracting and the eye appeal of this cent is excellent. Frosty light olive and chocolate brown. Sharply struck EDS, Breen state I, with the always-present fine die cracks on the obverse but none on the reverse. Graded EF45 in the Bland/Breen census. Comes with a nice provenance. Estimate Value $5,000 - UP
Ex Henry Chapman (via Miss Ella Wright) 1/16/1937-Judge Thomas L. Gaskill-New Netherlands Coin Co. (privately) 11/1956-Dorothy Paschal (includes an old collection envelope).

Realized $7,200
