Lot 1936

1802, 2 over 1. NGC graded MS-63. Well struck and frosty. The obverse shows the bust of Liberty with her head facing right, date below and LIBERTY above, with stars separating the words and date. Liberty wears a cap, with her long curling hair flowing down, with one part of her hair wrapping up along the cap. The strike is sharp enough to keep all the hair strands separated, and all the fine definition is present. Matching quality on the reverse where the Great Seal is seen, with minor modifictaions to the clouds so they fit better onto the coin format. Again all elements are crisp and sharp, and the surfaces show no distracting disturbances. A glorious example of this prized type issue.Pop 15; 13 in 64;i in 65. (PCGS # 8083) Estimate Value $25,000 - 27,000

Realized $31,200
