1901. PCGS graded Proof 67 Deep Cameo. CAC. A nearly perfect coin. First off the strike is full, sharp and complete. There are no copper specks or stains, the entire surface is bright and fresh. The fields are boldly mirrored by the dies, falling away from the devices when examined. Bold frost on every letter and device, as required for the Deep Cameo designation. About ten percent of the original mintage of 223 pieces earn the Deep Cameo designation. When all comes to all, this will always be one of the finest seen of this rare Proof quarter eagle, and a delightful coin to hold and examine. Pop 8; 1 in 68; 1 in 68+; 2 in 69.
