Goldberg Coins and Collectibles

Sale 104

Lot 1865

1855-C. NGC graded MS-61. A nice frosty white coin. The strike is a trifle uneven, as usually seen on this rare issue. All the important design elements are clear. The Charlotte Mint issued limited coinage during their years in operation. In this case the 1855 gold dollars mostly entered circulation and stayed. Precious few were saved in uncirculated grades, like the present coin. A prize for the advanced collector. Only 9803 minted. Pop 9; 4 in 62; none finer at NGC. (PCGS # 7533) Estimate Value $19,000 - 20,000

Unsold
