1853-D. NGC graded MS-63. Only 6,583 minted. This is the rarest Dahlonega Type I gold dollar issue in Mint state. Only a handful survived this nice, and collector demand is extreme when a nice example like this crosses the auction session. Rich golden and orange hues, lustrous and fairly sharp.
