1849-C. Closed wreath. PCGS graded MS-62. Well struck with rich golden toning. One tiny hairline on the left obverse field, otherwise a gem presenting lots of luster. Only 11,634 struck and most of these are found well circulated. This coin was recently found in England and graded for the first time. First year of issue of the Gold dollar, and a prized rarity from the Charlotte Mint and possessing excellent surfaces. Pop 7; 7 finer, 6 in 63, 1 in 64. (PCGS # 7505) Estimate Value $7,000 - 8,000
