1870 Pattern Quarter Dollar. Silver, reeded edge. Judd-888. Pollock-987. Rarity 5. PCGS graded Proof 67. CAC. PQ. Lovely rainbow toning on both sides. An exquisite coin that shows off these regal designs quite well, accented by the antique blue, rose and gold tning on both sides. The strike is sharp and this is a top condition rarity. The obverse shows a bust of Liberty facing right, wearing a cap with stars on the front, with ribbons behind and on her shoulder, one is inscribed LIBERTY. The Motto is below on a raised ribbon beneath her truncation. For the reverse an open cereal wreath is seen, with 25 / CENTS / 1870 inside, and STANDARD above. Pop 1; none finer at PCGS.
