Lot 1474

1859-O. NGC graded MS-65+. Pop 3; 3 finer in 66. Lovely blue and golden toning on both sides which greatly adds to the eye appeal. Furthermore the surfaces are rock solid gem with nary a nick or bagmark to be found. This is incredible considering that this coin was issued just prior to the Civil War, and issued down in the South. How did it survive at all, let alone in gem condition? We'll probably never know, but here is a coin with some stories to tell, if only it could. Cherished by many people since the day it was struck. Estimate Value $6,000 - 6,500

Unsold
